Exciting news, NBA 2K16 PC gamers! The External File Plugin developed by Limnono has been released, which allows you to simply drop custom art files in a specified folder and have them used by the game, instead of the equivalent files stored in the archives. This means you don’t have to worry about importing mods to use them, with the exception of OGG (sound) files.
Basically, applying mods should now be as easy as it was in earlier versions of NBA 2K on PC. As an added bonus, this method is similar to the custom art folder that was utilised by NBA Live PC for many years, meaning it’s also a lot easier to remove and replace mods, as well as restore the default files.
In other news, the next version of the NBA 2K16 Explorer will include official support for the plugin. Needless to say, this is a huge development for NBA 2K16 modding, making it far easier to distribute and install mods.
